The clinical research ward for brain-computer interface in Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital was established

On December 31st, Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital held a ceremony to unveil the BCI ward covering the entire hospital area. The BCI clinical research ward is the first ward in CR Medical which is dedicated to the clinical research of BCI technology.The ward relies on the top scientific research strength of universities in the field of brain-computer interface, integrates multi-disciplinary forces such as neurosurgery, neurology, neurohabilitation, epilepsy, psychology, etc., and sets up 10 characteristic clinical research wards. Through the featured of "clinical problems traction, neuro-mechanism constraints, and artificial intelligence empowerment", the clinical research and application exploration of BCI technology are carried out, and new ways for solving the diagnosis and treatment problems of brain diseases are opened up.

The establishment of this ward has enabled the hospital to leap from a "disease treatment site" to a "center for the study of brain function," and inject new impetus into the protection of brain health.

In the future, the hospital will fully promote the clinical transformation and application practice of brain-computer interface technology in the field of neurology. It will focus several major diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, depression, and stroke. It will integrate the advantages of neurology, neurosurgery and rehabilitation medicine, and focus on exploring and building five diagnosis and treatment centers: a psychological and sleep center, a child and adolescent psychological center, a tinnitus and vertigo, a cognitive and memory center, and an epilepsy center. It will build a new pattern of "medical research integration, industry-academia-research-application" integrated, and practice the responsibility of protecting public health with technical strength.
